We are Private Practice Midwives located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, Healesville. We are passionate about creating a unique pregnancy and birth experience, facilitating your journey into parenthood. 

We work closely with women to develop pregnancy care pathways that are woman centred, evidenced based, and focused on individual needs, expectations and aspirations. Care pathways are guided by the Australian College of Midwives guidelines and may include discussion, consultation or referral with our collaborating G.P Obstetrician or Obstetric Consultant.

We are Endorsed Private Practice Midwives which means we can provide Medicare rebates for antenatal and postnatal appointments. Rebates may also be available if you have Private Health insurance.

What is a Private Midwife?

A private midwife is a registered midwife who has completed a postgraduate study in pharmacology, diagnostics and prescribing. This enables the midwife to provide medicare rebates and authorisation to order pregnancy tests, investigations, ultrasounds and medicines. A private midwife has a collaborative partnership with an Obstetrician providing safe, evidenced based professional care for women as their chosen Primary Carer throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period for up to 6 weeks after the baby’s birth. The private midwife has professional indemnity insurance with MIGA which covers pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Mimosa Midwifery is my long standing vision to be able to provide ‘gold standard’ maternity care for women in the Yarra Ranges and beyond. 

I believe that every woman should have a known primary carer and every woman should have all the resources and information available to her and her family when making decisions about her care, pregnancy, birth and new family.

I have four beautiful babies of my own, Denali, Tyler, Indigo and Maiya.

Motherhood itself is a journey of discovery; of self, of family, changing roles and of course the new life entering your world. My greatest pleasure is to stand alongside women and their families during this time.

Being able to provide Maternity services in the beautiful Yarra Valley is a privilege and a joy. Clients who do not live in Healesville enjoy visiting for their appointments and sampling the local coffee and cafe’s, some even schedule in a bush walk ;)
